When places like Harrods have a load of left over stock that they cant sell what happens to it?

Do they give it to charity?

  1. I don't think Harrods really get much left over stock, they must sell most of it, it's such a successful store but am sure a few items will find their way into some other shops. There are plenty of concessions of course so they may distribute goods to other stores within the particular brand.  For Harrods brand there are of course other Harrods outlets these days, on Cruise ships etc so maybe some stuff gets distributed around there too.


  2. Sold at just over the original cost to retailer (so they make a small profit) to specialist companies, who then sell on to discount retailers as (cheap) spot lines.

    Same thing happens to items returned (typically after Xmas because people don't want it).   Bought a very good B+Q power saw this way on eBay.  No box and couple of scratches but who cares...........

  3. Most retailers will return unsold merchandise to the manufacturer for credit.

  4. Some of the cheapest stocks they put on sale, And the peoples like you go and buy it!!
