Or will they just buy us all boy clothes and not stick to the baby registry. My close friends are telling me not to let it be known because I won't get anything off my registry. Is that true???

  1. No one buys off the registry anyway. I've been to a ton of baby showers, I've had one myself, and honestly the people who don't announce the gender just end up getting a ton of boy and girl clothes anyway.

Tell people its a boy. You will get blue blankets and towels and clothes from the people who had no intention of shopping from the registry. Blue is better than a bunch of gender neutral stuff or girl clothes you have to return.

  2. People are going to buy you what ever they want to buy you.  if you have a registry, they will most likely buy from it.  If they don't buy from it, it won't be because they know the s*x, it will be because either they don't want to shop at the store you picked or there wasn't anything on the registry that they wanted to get for you.  Really, until recently, a wedding was the only event that you could politely register for, and even that was frowned upon a few years back.  Be happy that people are coming and bringing you gifts, unfortunately, you may have to supply some things you want for the kid yourself :(

Congrats on your little man.  Tell everyone it's a boy!!

  3. Most people want to know what you are having. They may or may not stick to the registry and it has nothing to do with knowing the s*x of your baby or not. Baby shower gifts are just that, gifts. And as far as etiquette goes no one should know where you are registered unless they ask. It is considered bad manners to include it on the invitation or to go around telling people. So either way getting items from your registry is no guarantee.

  4. people like shopping for right s*x tell them few people go to store selected because of price so be a little bold spply a wish list as well so people can bargain hunt try multiple list if you knoww group that buy together give them lg items less $$$ less expensive if they are friends they wont be  offended

  5. If you dont let it known people will buy you girl stuff, which you don't need.

  6. I got only the little things off my registry, like pacifiers, cups, little toys, which was fine with me. I by not means expected anyone to buy the playpen or stroller for me as they were expensive. Most of the people that came bought baby clothes which is usually the way it goes most of the time and some even bought stuff that I didn't even think of which was even better. It will just be easier to tell everyone you are having a boy so they at least buy boyish things. Otherwise you may get things for a girl. Who knows. Just be happy you get stuff at all. Congratulations on your baby! Have fun!

  7. I think your best bet is to say you want neutral clothes and accessories to make it more interesting for the guests and keep them wondering until the baby is born. Try, yellows, whites, tans or greens for clothing/accesory items. Ask the person to include the gift reciept so you may return if the item is too feminine.

  8. Actually...i'm in the same boat. I have all the girl clothes and blankets I need but since everyone heard it was a girl those are the only things they want to buy. I have a registry but no one is buying from it even though THEY talked me into even doing one. At this point i figured "oh well, i'm just in the baby shower so I can have some close friends celebrate this wonderful thing with me...who cares what i get or don't get". No point in being picky or greedy, right?

  9. Maybe thats why I didn't get anything off of my registry?!?

  10. Yeah, most invites state "It's a boy/girl" - you will get a lot of clothes only a FEW things from your registry.
