When playing FIFA 08, what is more important when beating defenders: good passing or fancy tricks?

I think its better to do good passing so you can set up some scoring opportunities but there are times when a fancy trick can set up a goal and make you look good. Good passing will give more chances for your team to play better.

Well, it depends. If you can't pass the defenders, then just go for it. Shoot.It's your choice.

If you play football, then when playing fifa '08 you should think about what you would actually do in real life.

If you are 1 on 1 with a defender you can do one of a couple of things, try to take him on with a fancy trick, or if you believe that your player is faster you can try to run around him, which is mostly not the favorite of choices. You also have the choice of holding back, and waiting for another player to come join you, so you have some help. Last thing you could do, is if you and the defender are close enough to take a shot. Either it will bounce off and go out of bounds, or it could go around the defender, and the chance of a goal.

if you are on a counter attack, and have the ball at mid-field, that is a whole different story. Good passing would then come into hand. If you see the possiblity of a through ball, USE IT. through balls right through the defence, with a fast striker should get you the really good possibilty of getting a shot away.

I personally like using good passing, but for those 1 on 1's, or even if you see a good pass available, and need to pass a guy, dont be afraid to pull out a trick, and see what happens. The only thing you gotta know is tricks, and a nice dribble is good, but dont get too cocky, or you are bound to lose it.

Good passing, fancy tricks will just give them more time for more players to get to you and steal the ball. The defenders follow the ball,so if u keep on passing u will get past them.

passing but sometimes having some useful tricks works too. just spin around them or kick the ball past them and sprint to it

depends on wat diffaculty ur on if on amature do tricks but if on world class then u have to pass oher wise u will loose

Good passing. There are some good "fancy tricks" on FIFA 08 tho'. Some of them work better when not running.
