  1. what age group will dominate?  What theme, ie: formal or informal is the wedding?  Light jazz is great, contemporary jazz for younger, light classical for formal, but an 80's mix is alot of fun, played low while you eat if you're in your 30-s-40s, nonformal.

  2. huge tip, look for songs on movie soundtracks, if they can be played in the background of a movie they can be played in the background for a dinner. plus they are usually good all rounders that suit everyones tastes. but generally speaking, if they are your peers, start with something you like because they will probibly have similar tastes. nothing too fast or too catchy. if you are cooking a particular cuisine you may  even consider the music of that country like in a restaurant eg indian...

  3. You can do Piano or Jazz but if you are going older like that, you might as well play a rat pack selection, that's what I usually do. Mostly Frank Sinatra, can't go wrong with Frankie. Most people know the songs, its quiet enough for the background, has that old italian restaurant feel to it, and in general makes the old people happy. If you are looking to go a little newer, mix in some light acoustic stuff like Jack Johnson, DMB, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, maybe Goo Goos etc.

  4. alot of people seem to choose swing tunes. theres also classical

  5. We are doing the same thing and we have chosen some tracks that are special to us. We will be playing these as background music throughout the meal until the band comes on.

Good luck, just pick some really great tracks that mean something to you both.

  6. She moved the dishes first, by Supercharge.

  7. All range of songs for background music at this site, http://www.365weddingsongs.com and remember to rate my post if this is helpful. Thanks !

  8. Songs about the future are a good choice. I'm sure some people would love those good ole love songs from the 70's and 80's. Go on line and look some up. Just put in 70's love songs and go from there. Congrats on your wedding.
