I am new to the game but I have studied a little bit on it. I tried out some strategies I learned from a book. So I went in with 65($) got down to about 30 then brought myself back up to 95 then the casino closed down and I cashed out with 70 (so in an hour I made$5 when I was at 95 I said if i win this next hand to get me to 100 ill quit! but i never made it! I dont know what kind of profit I should be looking at when I am just playing the min $5 bet!

  1. This is a money management thing.  When you go out gambling set parameters beforehand.  Stick to them and you can win.

  2. if your willing to win or lose 100,play the game, get to that 100 or amount you want then leave, dont become addicted,as they say know when to leave em

  3. If you make a quarter percent more than you started with, get away.

If you lose a quarter percent less than you started with, gtfo.

  4. i generally play to double my stack.  so if you start with 65 you want to get close to 130.  also if you start with 65 and you know that is all you are willing to lose then just walk away if you lose your whole stack.  if you get on a good roll, and win more than 4 or 5 hands in a row, then up your bet to 10 dollars until the shoe ends.  if you notice that you start losing then back down to 5 dollars again.  its all about watching how the cards are falling.  if you notice the dealer is winning more than the players then you might want to leave.  it is also a good idea to watch a table for a few hands before you sit down to see how the cards are.  also when you walk up to a table, look at the other players stacks.  if they are low then that tells you that it really isnt that good of a table.  listen for people yelling and screaming as that is usually the good table and where you want to be.  try not to drink too much alcohol when you play as it can impair your decision making. and most important, if you lose dont overcompensate by betting more to try to make up for what you lost. cards get hot and then cards get cold.  you just have to feel it out and play within your means

  5. Blackjack is very mechanical game. Stop when you start making mistakes, that is when you start deviating from basic strategy, your card count strategy or if the pit is putting alot of pressure on you. Otherwise you keep on playing..
