  1. Walking is the only real way to play golf.  I do use a pull cart as I'm getting to be an old man here....

Carts detract from the game.  One is always driving around this and that or just goofing off.  Walking you get a feel for the shot upcoming and can more focus on it.

  2. Most of the courses I play at require you to use a cart, especially during the summer when it's 105 degrees.

  3. Walk!  It's all about exercise, health and knowing that you are doing something that you enjoy and you are benefiting from it...............Don't forget the sunblock!

  4. Walk with my clubs. It's how the game is meant to be played. It's good source of exercise. It allows you to enjoy the beauty of the course you are playing. Allows you more time to clear your mind after a bad shot and plan for your next shot. Just walking on a course really makes me feel as one with the course.

With that being said, I still take a golf cart sometimes when I am playing with an older player or want to get a real quick round. I never seem to shoot as well or enjoy the game as much when I take a golf cart.

  5. I have done it both ways; walking and riding. Walking is really the way the game is meant to be played. It is extremely helpful when approaching the greens. You seem to get more of a feel for the green when you walk up to it and not ride up to it. You get to see more of the contpours and just what to do when you get there.

Also when you walk you seem to be more in tune with your game. Riding with someone tends to distract you from the game.

  6. I'm an old f**t and the knees will not allow walking and carrying which I love.  When bionic knees come out, I'll do it again :)

  7. It depends really on the course I play. If it's 'buggy only' course then I take the buggy along the buggy track & then walk to wherever my ball lands. Otherwise I prefer to take my golf motorised trolley and walk; it's more fun this way. Besides, I do need the exercise whenever I have the chance.

  8. it depends on the course actually, some course don't allow walking so they can get the extra income from cart rentals.  But for the most part, I prefer to walk, more exercise that way, enjoy the beauty of the course and allows you to think in between shots more.

  9. Walking also reduces the cost of the round at most places.  At my course, the cart is $24 for 18 holes.  That saving adds up if you play a lot.  Plus you get the excersise.

  10. I prefer to walk. I have a pull cart that I put my bag in.
