My friend believes that if all four are owned, regardless of who owns them, the rent is $200. I believe that you would have to own all four on order for this to happen. Who is right?

  1. You are correct.  Not your friend.  It is just like any other property, in that the rent goes up if YOU own them all.

  2. It is determined by how many railroads you own.

    (you are right, your friend is mistaken or trying to cheat, lol)

    1=   $25

    2=   $50

    3= $100

    4= $200

  3. Your friend is wrong.  Rent is paid by how many the landlord holds, not how many are owned by anyone.

  4. It's by how many the person who owns the one that someone landed on owns. So, if I own B+O and Reading, and someone lands on Reading, they pay me 50. Even if someone else owns Shortline.

  5. One person must own all the railroads for the rent to be $200.You are correct

  6. The same person has to own all 4 to charge the $200.

  7. Who ever owns the one that is landed on, collects rent.  if that person owns more than one of the railroads, it goes up as indicated on the cards.

    If 4 people are playing and each person owns one, only $25 is paid to the particlar owner of the one that is landed on (doubled if via the chance card).
