  1. absolutely - you can't scratch anytime when you are shooting for the 8-ball.

  2. yep, dude... u hav lost te game..... rulebooks are different in different leagues but hey, not too many players are gonna give u a second chance anyway....

  3. you lost, the other player will get two shots on the black and usually they will pot out, thats if they dont stuff up!!!

  4. NVEA??...VNEA??...d**n, just like the answers on here, it's all confused..........just like Johnny stated, exactly...bar room bull c**p, yea, you lose the game...BCA, like homeboy at top says..no..it gets spotted.....just make the d**n 8 already..lol DreO

  5. If you're playing eight-ball, then you've lost. . . .

  6. BCA Standard -No

    BRBS-Yes

  7. only if you make the 8, if you miss the 8 and scratch you do not automatically lose, the next player has ball in hand then 9 times out of 10 you'll probabley lose the game.

  8. yep.

  9. You only lose if you pocket both the 8-ball and the cue ball.  If you miss the 8-ball and scratch, it is not loss of game.  The upcoming player takes ball in hand.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  10. Depends on which "League" and what rules you are playing under. Irrespective of what some say - 99.9% of all leagues say yes - it is loss of game.

Don't be misled what a low percentage of posters say. The BCA has different rules than the APA. The APA has different rules than the NVEA, the NVEA plays by different rules than The Great Midwest, and so on.

Whatever league you decide to play learn their rules. That's the only thing that matters.

And enjoy yourself. Don't let others bring you down.

  11. yes, u lose.
