Question:

When pregnant women go out in public, it offends me. What do you think?

I'm sick of constantly seeing pregnant women out in public. It's such a blatant and obscene reference to human sexuality. In earlier days, women stayed in the home during their pregnancy. It was a social faux pas for them to be seen outside - it implied that their husband was not taking care of the family business very well. This makes a lot more sense to me.

I'm not saying that it should be illegal for them go out in public (though that would be nice). People should acknowledge how obscene and disgusting it is for pregnant women to go around displaying their sexuality for the world to see. If people did that, maybe pregnant people would feel less comfortable in public.

What is your opinion on this?

  1. That is very rude. Pregnant people glow and are beautiful. You are a freak and need to start living in 2008 and step out of the 1920's. You need to rethink what you are talking about. ALot of pregnant woman are very emotional and I am sure that with you writing this has made alot of them cry and feel bad about themselves.

  2. Wow! I wonder what your life would be like if YOU were pregnant.

  3. I disagree with your opinion because I don't believe that human sexuality is something that should be hidden or secret. Every single person (besides the small amount of the population that is asexual) is sexual, so I don't see why it should be shunned, or why it should be treated as something that is not normal.

  4. This question has got to be a joke.  There are young women out there dressed like hussies and a woman who is pregnant is what disgusts you?  You have some serious issues.  Go see a psychiatrist.

  5. ~~Luckily our people have grown out of the dark ages and learned to rejoice when someone is lucky enough to be expecting. If you could get more comfortable with s*x and what it means and stands for, why people are really all put on earth for (procreation), this would not be a problem for you.~~

  6. o. k. heres my opinion. i think you are a troll planted on here to start a bunch of bull c**p. get a life and leave us alone.

  7. You might get pregnant yourself , think about it. Would you stay home if you did get pregnant? I'm guessing you would continue living life and if you wanted to go out you would :) My opinion!

  8. Look the other way

  9. i think its perfectly fine for pregnant women to go out in public. ive never seen the problem.

i dont see them as 'displaying their sexuality for the world to see' i see it as a new life that their bringing to the world. i feel very happy for them.

I dont have kids and i'm not pregnant but the last thing i would want when i am pregnant is to be stuck at home all day doing **** all

  10. I'm not sure how you're defining the "EARLIER DAYS," but in Hunting and Gathering the women actually DID venture out to gather the fruits of the earth...Earth is called MOTHER. The men hunted and women were the keepers of the fire...which was a societal position...not hidden in a dark place.

I won't get BA for this...but I say HURRAY!!! for the strong, beautiful pregnant women of 2008!  YOU ARE INDEED GIVING US HOPE FOR A BEAUTIFUL NEW GENERATION OF POTENTIAL!!!

A pregnant woman isn't MERELY sexual...she is beautiful, bountiful and a sign that God (whoever he is to each of us) HASN'T given up on His children!

  11. Why are you not working?   As a dude you would never see the women because you are doing guy things.   Also as a dude if you are?:.... do you plan to eat tonight? Yes?EEEEEEH!  She was not allowed to go shopping and you didn't because it is not the manly thing to do.

And have s*x later on? EHHHHHH   WRONG AGAIN!  She is not thrilled by  this prison you have placed her in....so s***w a hat.

If you are a female, you must be barren and jealous.  Say so.  There is no other logic in  what you are saying.     Pregnancy is a part of life.      You have you head screwed around in the Victorian era.(and who there DECIDED what was right and what was wrong)?

  12. I think it's perfectly ok for pregnant women to be in the public.

Many people think pregnancy is a beautiful thing.  Many people, in public places,  like to visit with pregnant people about their child which will soon be born.  This is such a wonderful thing of life.

Pregnancy isn't displaying sexuality .. it's life they have going on with them.  Sexuality is not a bad thing - unless a specific person makes it a bad thing -- sexuality is just made bad by the bad people who make it bad.

Every form of species has this going on with them, all over the world.

Pregnancy is nothing to be ashamed of.

Pregnancy is something to be proud of.  Many women beam the brightest when they are pregnant.  And - many husbands are so proud of their pregnant wife, they beam, too.

  13. I think you need to get out of the 1800's.

  14. yea ur right... i usually go haha over these scenes....=p

  15. So you find love obscene, do you?

If you are truly for real and not a troll looking for attention, then I pity you.  Actually, I pity you if you are a troll as well.

You obviously do not have a fulfilling life and going on the computer to make nasty and utterly ridiculous comments is the life of a pitiful loser.

  16. It's 2008...get over yourself.

People like you honestly disgust me. I think it's amazing everyone is becoming "Pregnant Woman Friendly". Most malls now have parking spots just for expectant mothers. A lot of places have a seperate area by the bathroom with reclining chairs and comfy places for nursing moms to sit. We should be welcoming new and pregnant moms into society. Making them feel more comfortable in an already hard time for them. Not making them feel like they should be stuck at home.

Very unfortunate people like you still exsist.

Maybe in the 1800's did men rule the house. The women stayed home and the men did everything but we're very luck times are no longer like this. Men are at jobs...many pregnant women already have children and you expect them to not take their kids to school? Or to the grocery store? You're right the men should do everything while the women sit at home pregnant and can't see their first or second borns grow up. We should ban them from school functions and the market too. GOOD IDEA!!!

This question is just laughable now.

  17. Grow up.

    Pregnant women are people too.

Remember, your mother gave birth to you.

I do not see it as obscene or blatantly sexual- and I don't understand why you do.

  18. I doubt many people will agree with you that pregnancy, as a display of sexuality, is repugnant. I don't especially enjoy looking at pregnant women, but that doesn't mean they don't have a perfect right to go anywhere the rest of us do.

I really wonder where you've gotten the idea that human sexuality is obscene. It's a part of life, and for most of us it's a good part. Just remember the United States Declaration of Independence, which says we should all be entitled to "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." That applies to women (pregnant or otherwise), men, homosexuals, atheists, christians, muslims, jews, blacks, whites, latinos, asians, and everyone else you can think of.

What makes you think you have the right to determine who can be seen in public? Honestly. What if somebody decided they didn't like the way you look, and that you should have to stay indoors? How would you feel?

Or are you just a tr0||?

  19. hun, i worked 40 hrs a wk during my pregnancies besides being out in public, and also went to college during my second pregnancy. you need to understand that pregnancy does not eliminate the respondsibilities of a woman but adds to them....i consider your opinion about this selfish to say the least...

  20. Your mother should have aborted...because you're offending people today

  21. You are as mistaken in your history as in your sociology.

In earlier days, only a tiny fraction of women occupied the leisure classes that had the option to stay home and idle away their pregnancy. The majority of women had their daily work to do and did it, just as now. Pregnant char-ladies, farm-wives, laundresses, flower-sellers, bone-setters, and dairy-workers scrubbed floors and milked cows and carried washing and hawked flowers and mixed potions and churned butter in public roles for centuries. You are generalizing from the conceits of the Upper Ten Thousand of three hundred years past, to the activities of the common people then and now, and your generalization is invalid.

The sociological error is, of course, that sexuality is obscene. Perhaps you have confused sexuality -- a basic human characteristic manifesting in different ways in the lives of singles, marrieds, g**s, straights, children, elderly, chaste and unchaste alike --  with promiscuity? The difference between the two is not really all that subtle, but I can see that the difference might elude some persons.

  22. If I came across a pregnant woman whom stayed home all day until she gave birth I would assume that she is embarrassed of  her child.  Today's women is much more independent.  What if they have a job to attend to?  Baby shopping?

  23. W R O N G

  24. Wow, did you grow up in a sexually repressed home?

Do you allow the shape of your b*****s, your buttocks, or your hips be seen?  Those are part of a woman's sexuality.

Would you prefer women wear a shapeless robe so as not to indicate they are women (women ARE sexual you know).  Sounds like you would do good in a Talibanana society.  Don't let the face show, don't let the hands show (you KNOW what they can do), don't let feet show, don't let the feminine shape show.  Of course all that would indicate the person is a female, and sexual beings.

Sugar, you need some SERIOUS help.

  25. I can see where you are coming from, but must admit your views are a little outdated. We live in a society where the media praises human sexuality. This has probably changed a lot of people's views about preganancy and having kids.

  26. First of all, women in the 1800's also had to go out and work. It was only the rich people who could stay at home and they did not stay at home either.. but the rich had their carriages to take them to places so they would not offend you as they were inside their carriages visiting friends or entertaining. To be pregnant is not a disease and it is not contageous to you if you happen to meet a pregnant woman. In our day and age, women have to go to work and earn a living until 6 weeks before the baby is due. It's not possible in our century to let only the husbands work. A working woman does not offend her male or female colleagues and she sees them all day long, you see her in passing. Why would that offend you. Your way of upbringing is that of a nun and even they helped deliver babies, you should go into a nunnery but even there you have to go for the right reasons.. and God wants those who are married and in love to multiply..to have children. So if God sees it as a blessing that women get pregnant when they are in a relationship and he blesses that relationship with the woman falling pregnant with a child how can you possibly see this as sexually obscene.. in order to have children and to procreate which is gods wish man and woman have to be together. it does not happen as to the virgin Mary.. that a pregnancy is possible without a man and a woman to create a child together... You must be past the times of Joseph and Mary and not believe in the holy spirit putting little baby Jesus on that blanket in the stable and Joseph never touched Mary.. it was a miracle birth.. even Mary had to walk a long way being pregnant to get to that stable...  so even back then women were out and not hidden away in a closet for 9 months.. you must be of a time when only the dinosaurs walked on planet earth and must really believe that Adam cut Eve out of his Ribs to create a woman.. even the church is more open minded than you are.. How old are you... 20 million years old or born within the last 100 years.???  Well if you are under 120 years old then you know pregnant women never stayed at home. They had to go into the fields or shopping when they did not go to work. and there is nothing disgusting about seeing a pregnant woman. There are very nice pregancy clothes just for that purpose and they offend nobody else... The rest of the world is quite ok with seeing pregnant women dressed nicely in becoming maternity clothes and they look just normal and to be pregnant is a normal process. and it is unhealthy for every human being not to go out of doors. and there is no shame to carry the child of the man one loves...It does not display sexuality.. it only displays.. that a new life is on its way to come into this world...and your mother did not stay in bed for 9 months until you were born. No sane person does only if there are severe complications with the pregnancy does a woman stay at home and  rest.

  27. Jasdeep G said it best...

  28. I don't find it disgusting that pregnant women go out in public.  Most people don't.  Guess you are in the minority here.

By the way, in the earlier days women pretty much stayed home in general.  Times have changed.  Then again, more men today feel like they can just take off after marrying a woman and getting her pregnant.  So I guess you could say the man really ISN'T taking care of the family.
