  1. There should not be a LAYER of ointment.  By the time you are ready to put more on it....there should be really no signs of the other ointment.  If you continue to put it on too thick you will ruin your tattoo and attract dirt and bacteria to it.  It should be applied so sparingly you can barely see anything there.

  2. just use lubaderm

  3. if there is still a layer of a&d on it, then you probably dont need more. but if you must apply more then yes just blot it off with a wet warm clean washcloth, let it dry, then reapply. i have also screwed up a tattoo by using too much a&d. you just dont want it to get dry, but you dont want to constantly drench it.

  4. no you dont have to wash your tattoo but you shouldnt be able to see a layer of what ever youre using to keep it moist

  5. Before putting more A&D ointment on your tattoo wash it with warm water and mild soap. When re-applying A&D ointment put on a just thin layer. After 2 days of this I always move on to a really good skin cream and apply that twice a day.

  6. wash it off completly everytime i've lost a lot of ink by putting too much a d ointment don't use the one sold on pharmacies it cakes on a thick layer try to get fugeroa not sure if i spelt it right comes right off easy

  7. If you can still tell that there is a+d on the tattoo, then you don't need another layer...if it's questionable, wash it first, then apply.  Don't over apply the ointment...too much moisture will bring more scabs if you don't keep it somewhat dry.

  8. Well usually the tattoo designer will tell you to wash off your tattoo an hour or so with luke warm water and then apply A+D ointment for a couple of days. In this case you don't have to wash the tattoo every time before applying the ointment.

Followed by just washing it with an unscented soap like Ivory and applying Lubriderm.
