When putting up a new wood fence, Does the good side of the fence have to face your neighbors?

  4. Check with your municipality.  Many places have ordinances that dictate this very issue.  You will want to have this information when you design your fence.  Hope this helps.

  7. The only way to tell for your specific situation is to call your local permitting office. In my city, I have to install the finished (good) side to the adjacent properties.

  10. i dont know about nebraska but here in michagan it dont matter, fences r for ur privacy and for u to enjoy, so id say put it up how u want to

  11. typically the inside of a fence (the bad side) faces the property of the person who put the fence up. That's how you can tell whose fence it is.

  12. use the new vinyl and both sides look nice
