Hi Guys,

Following on from my last question is this one!

When you guys are accelerating hard in a car, do you ever look at the rpm counter to help you shift or is it ALWAYS by feel/ear?

Im talking about driving the car hard/for overtaking not for normal driving.

Many thanks,

  1. you can always tell by the feel and the sound when it needs to change. tacho is just a novelty item.

  2. No.

I remember the first car I put a tach in and I soon found out I wasn't using it.

    Why?

Because at speed the road demand you eyes, I use my ears for the engine and tire.

If you think you need the tach, then move it some where it can be seen with out taking your eyes off the road.
