ok I have a bin at my apartment complex for newspapers and one for cardboard. Which bin should I put packaging in i.e. cereal boxes, pop tart boxes, macaroni and cheese boxes, you get the idea. It's too thick to be newspaper but too thin to be cardboard (I'm considering cardboard as corrugated cardboard)

  1. Regardless of how thin the boxes are, cereal packets etc are still considered to be cardboard and should be recycled as such.

  2. The cereal boxes, poptart boxes, and macoroni and cheese boxes are considered cardborad, no matter how thin. The plastic inside of them is not recycleable. Paper is about as thin as news paper, not much thicker( depending on the newspaper). All those materials are cardboard and sould be recycled in such way.

  3. definitely cardboard

  4. corrugated cardboard is usually kept seperate form non-corrugated cardboard. I'd ask your local agency to make sure. In my town we put non-corrugated cardboard in with the newspaper.
