When renewing my tax disc does the insurance need to be in the name of the owner?

I want to renew the tax on my car so that it will be easier to sell it on. However I need insurance to do this. I'm 19 which makes my insurance a fortune currently. If I got someone else to be insured for my car would I be able to tax it or does the insurance have to be for the owner/taxer of the car?

There has to be insurance in the name of the owner of the car. If you want insurance just for the purpose of taxing it you should get one of those 5 day insurance policies and hope you can tax it in those 5 days.
