Actually, it's primer. We messed up and put on 3 coats of primer, instead of 1 coat of primer and two coats of paint. Now, we want to sand the primer down, just slightly, before applying the paint. I took it outside and used a Fine grit sand sponge, but now the dust is impossible to clean up fully.

I tried the Shopvac, but it's just not powerful enough to get all the fine dust. I also tried Tack towels, but they just turned white and nasty.

  1. You need to go and buy some cheese cloth, it is available in most hardware stores and you rub the cheese cloth over the wood and it will pick up all of the fine dust and particle matter.

    ROSCooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  2. use a tac rag. Get it at hardware store.

  3. Use an air hose - compressor - to blow the car off...

  4. try a sponge damp with water and keep rinsing out the sponge

  5. Use a damp cloth, rinse repeatedly and change the water if need to

  6. go to the hardware store and buy a package of TACK CLOTHS, they are made specifically for that purpose.

they are cloths with a sticky substance that the dust will adhere to.    have used them many times for just that purpose.
