  1. All of the balls travel down a rail system under the table leading to the ball return at the far end of the table. The cue ball is a little bit smaller or even larger in some cases though and is diverted toward the cue ball return at the near end of the table when it comes to a designated variation in the rail system size.

  2. Jude is absolutely correct.  I don't know if you have ever played on a dynamo table.  I have seen them use cue balls as big as beach balls and are not at all fun to play with.

  3. the cue ball has is a bit bigger then the rest of the balls

  4. You know the kid from little people big world on tlc......he is in the table seperating those balls.

  5. a scratch is when you sink the white cue ball.

both magnets and different-sized cue balls are used, depending on the table

  6. There are three different types of cue balls used in a coin-operated pool table.

The first and oldest is the larger/heavier cue ball.  The table recognizes it's heavier mass and returns it to the head side of the table

The second is the magnetic cue-ball.  These cue-balls have a magnetic core.  Usually tables that have magnetic ball returns can also accept heavier cue-balls as well.

The third is produced by Diamond Tables and is called the Smart Table.  This table uses a lasar to determine which is the cue-ball and can use ANY cue ball as a result.  This table is currently the one most often used in the amateur championships in the APA and BCA.
