When selling a car to a dealer?

Does it really matter to the dealer if I clean the door frame...or where the trunk of the car meets the rest of the body...when the trunk is closed?

Price wise?

  1. it doesn't matter if the car is dirty. all they care about is if the car is a salvage.they turn around and sell the car to a  wholesale dealer or if it is worth anything to them they get the car detailed.

  2. I have traded in vehicles not-so-clean before.  And clean.  Doesn't matter either way.  They have people who detail for them on the clock.  As for the trunk lid, I doubt it will be noticed if you are questioning that.  I bought a truck last year and it was offline a bit in the front bumper to side panel.  I didn't notice until I was sitting at work on break staring at my new ride still after having it for over a week.  I took it back to ask about it.  There wasn't much they could do for it and it was only a very minor flaw for an otherwise great ride.  Just depends on how your vehicle is overall.  I mean, to me it sounds like, if you're worried about the trunk, then detail the h**l out of it so they will see you have taken care of it.  Otherwise, they might question your maintenance and go over more.

Remember, no matter what you think it's worth though, you will never get what it is worth.  I've lost so much money trading in.  It's not really worth it unless you are trying to save on gas now.

I traded in my truck (well it was a trailblazer) for a hyundai.  I save 3 x's the gas now.  Yay!
