  1. Bring your own envelopes, paper and stamps to start off. Eventually they will take you to the PX and you can get some more. They do not provide them.

  2.   Bring your own initially.  Once you are afforded base liberty, they can be purchased at the PX !

  3. Bring your own no telling when they may take you to the shoppette to get some and by that time they might be out.

  4. I was given about 10 in our letter writing gear.  Anything else I'd have to buy at the PX or have my family mail to me.

  5. make sure when you leave you have pen, paper, envelopes and stamps. they will not give them to you. you can always buy them at the px, but if you are in boot getting there is a rare happanstance. once you send a letter or two, ask who you are writing to send another book for you. writing is your only communication with the outside world (espcially if it is USMC boot), you dont want to run out of stamps and not be able to send letters out. good luck.

  6. They do not provide stamps, envelopes, postcards, stationary, paper, pens or pencils. They do give you some opportunities to buy them.  It is a good idea to bring some with you. You can even buy post cards from the post office with the postage already on them.

Also send a letter home as soon as you find out your return address, The sooner you send a letter home the sooner you start getting mail. You will need to get letters to keep in contact with your family and friends because you might not get telephone privleges.

  7. bring your own

  8. no you will need to provide your own..either bring a couple,or buy them when you are taken shopping to get all your stuff.
