When sewing the back of

Question

When sewing the back of the stick is all gathered / notted / bulk of thread and the thread sometimes gets court around the bobbin.Also the thread the goes through the tension before being threaded into the needle continually breaks off.The machines is a Janome MyStle36, it isn't in the list
