never, thats the point of a ups. to be constantly trickle charging the battery so that you have an emergency backup

Never. The UPS will enter "low power mode" so it doesn't waste electricity. Once the battery is full it "trickle charges" so you shouldn't turn it off.

and off it when its not in use ..

by this tour ups will give you better backup and good battery life ..

never it suppose to act like ur power backup,always leave it on as it charges the batteries in them and once u have a power outrage,it supports ur desktop.

Don't turn it off unless you are going out of home unattended for long period. It is meant to be "ON" and don't worry about its electricity consumption.

Battery is always getting charged so long you are using on Mains supply

Even if it has used battery for backup for 5-10 Mins that is not a problem otherwise you can leave it on for half an hour to one hour
