  1. todler well if she is over 2 under 4 she needs to get off of it and go to a sippy cup but when she is 4 she needs to drink like a big girl

  2. my daughter didn't get a bottle after her first birthday. Throw them all away or put them in storage if you can't give in to him/her it will go much more quickly. It didn't take my daughter long at all to figure out the sippy cup. there are some with silicon spouts that are good to start out with.

  3. After his or her first birthday

  4. 11 months or so my pediatrician said

  5. my son was off the bottle at 12 months and off the sippy at 18 months  (by his own choice he sees me drinking from a cup and wants to be like me i guess  now  he only drinks from a sippy when we travil) depending on how old she is  11 or 12 months is what i was told by my doctor

  6. my son started using a sippy cup for juice and water around his first birthday, and was only using a bottle for naps and comfort during bad days with milk in it for a few months, past few months he's been using a bottle before bed and thats it. Past few days he's rejected the bottle entirely. So I think he's decided to give it up, he's almost 15mths. Your child will normally give signs when he or she is ready.

  7. my sister was little don't keep her on the bottle to long or she'll get attached!!

if she is attached help her by donating just the bottles to baby's who really need them!!

  8. Well, with my daughter I tried a sippy cup after her 1st birthday to see if she would like it. She never even looked back at the bottle. I let her continue with one bottle before bedtime so she wouldnt wake up hungry at night. Then she soon decided she didn't even want that so I just started giving her regular milk with her meals after that in her sippy cup. She is 3 now and uses a regular cup except for car trips and does fine. Just give him a choice when he gets old enough and see what he likes. You may have to introduce slowly with a cup at meals for "practice" or you may get the "wow! this is cool mom, no more bottle pls!" like my daughter. LOL she never wanted bottles after discovering the sippy. Good luck!

  9. I was told to stop giving my daughter a bottle after she turned one.  She is now 19months and will happily drink water out of her sippy cup, but she's still reluctant to drink milk out of it even though she hasn't had a bottle in months.  I now have to chase behind her for hours with the sippy cup to get her to drink the milk when b4 i could hand her a bottle and she'd drink it on her own in under 15mins.  That makes me wonder if i should have tried switching to a sippie cup earlier than i did, i think the longer you leave it the harder it is for the child to transition.

  10. 1 year is just the right time. slowly start with one feed and gradaully do it to all milk feeds. if she is not ready wait for a few days and try again.

  11. My pediatrian said no more bottles after 12 months.  My daughter started using a sippy cup at 6 months for juice and water, and a bottle for milk.  Around 11 months I started taking away one milk bottle at a time.  I started with the lunch bottle and afternoon bottle.  Her favorite was her morning bottle, so that was the last to go.  Her morning bottle was the only bottle for a couple months, then I just stopped giving it to her and she was fine.

If your child is over one I would start weaning now.  It should take about a month, then make sure you get rid of all the bottles so there is no temptation.  You could even take them to a friend with a baby to show that he/she is a big kid and the baby needs the bottles.

    Good Luck.

  12. Children start to develop attachments to the bottle after the age of one, thus making it harder to wean.  We had our son completely off bottles by his first birthday and he didn't even notice the switch.
