  1. All I can say is that I see 4-5 year old kids at the track all of the time. There is even a class for 4 to 6 year old kids in AMA motocross.

  2. get him a 50cc dirtbike from honda when hes 4 or 5 . 3 a little young

  3. yes you should. the pw 50 or any other fifty is fine. ps, if he wants afast one get him a polini or cobra.

  4. Not Yet Ya its good he's riding ,remember don't rush it. There will be time.... Experienced is nice Too young to me

  5. yamaha and honda have available training wheels for their fourstroke 50cc dirt bikes .each have advantages they are both reliable and low maintenence motorcycles. the yamaha is electric start so your little guy can spend more time and energy riding than kicking the starter. the honda comes with a key so it will be hard to steal and their is an available leash so that if the youngster go's too far the leash will unplug killing the motor.

  6. i got my first dirt bike when i was 5 and it was the best day of my life

  7. i definetly think you should get him a bike all you need is like a honda xr 50 get the training wheels and its all automatic so he wont need to shift yet make sure you get him a helmet boots and couple more things that can protect him

  8. just remember safety first :D

  9. It sounds as though your son may have the ability to ride at this yound age but I would definitely wait a while.  Dirt bikes are fun but, even for beginners, they are potentially very dangerous.  I can't imagine any child this age being able to fully understand the dangers involved or the consequences of his actions.

If his bike and quad are keeping him happy, just let things be.  He'll have plenty of time to learn about motorcycles and develop a desire to have one.  That will make the transition to dirt bikes an easier one.  In addition, by letting him first develop a desire to ride, it'll reduce your chances of wasting your hard-earned money (bikes ain't cheap anymore!).

I applaud your interest in dirt biking as it is a great sport.  Just make sure the timing is right.

    Good luck.

  10. That's a good age to start him off my son started at 4yrs old. Start with a used bike(he will out grow it fast) Yamaha PW50 or Honda XR50 or Suzuki JR50 these are very respectable bikes and he is going to need the training wheels(but not for very long just the first week) it's so he can get use to the weight and the power of the bike........"Your Baby Is Going To Be Motocross Star"

  11. i think that the child's environment dictates how early or late they should do many activities that are available for children. my son is 12 ( or will be next week ) and i wouldn't buy him one... simply because we are town people and he rides a trick bike... can you imagine him taking a dirt bike and jumping steps, hand rails, etc... with a dirt bike... makes me cringe ti think it.... but, he can run a boat... most people would think him to young but we have been boating his entire life and enjoy wake-boarding and wake surfing... so, if you feel comfortable... let him... it is all perception this world we live in!!!

  12. I think its a good idea but u have to buy protective gear, helmet boots etc., but realize he will grow and unless you are financially ok this is expensive. his dad will have to teach him about throttle control. look into  a honda crf50 they are often times reasonably cheap and will last longer than any other bike. dont buy one from kragen auto parts or china. my daughter has had one since she was 2 and now shes 4, I rode on it with her sitting in front of me and she LOVED it. good luck.
