Okay well, I am going to a dress shop in order to find my prom dress. I am not really sure how it works there, since it isn't a bridal shop. I think they will size me up and then order the dress in my size. Hopefully they will also be able to alter it a little if need be.

When should I go get my dress? I want to look at quite a few different designs and I'm not sure if they carry all the sizes.

For wedding dresses, I know you're supposed to go 6 to 8 months in advance. So... a prom dress?

  1. I'd go 3 - 4 months ahead

  2. Go as soon as you can, then you won't have to stress about it!

  3. some 4 or three months before so that in case you want to loose or gain weight for the dress, you can do it on time :)

  4. i don't think it takes very long to alter a prom dress, well not as long as a wedding dress, but if you want to look at designs as well i'd go atleast a month in advance, you'd want to give them a couple of weeks to do any alterations if there will be any.

  5. i went the week before my prom and bought a dress. its not that big of a deal.
