When should I plant new bulbs to come up next spring? I am looking at Hydrangea.

  1. Did you mean Hyacinth bulbs?  September-October are ideal for planting bulbs.  Hydrangea is not a bulb, but a summer blooming shrub.  It can also be planted in the fall.


  2. You need to plant your bulb in the fall of the year so they will be ready to bloom in the spring.

  3. Jpad108,is right.   Hydrangea are bushes, tulips,daffodil, iris, tete-a-tete,

    hyacinth, are all bulbs

  4. It depends on where you live.  I am on the east coast of the U.S. and September/October is the optimum planting time for bulbs.

  5. Bulbs can be planted in Sept, Oct, but Hydrangea are not bulbs, they are bushes and they can be planted now if you water them.
