When should I take an HPT? Fertility issues?

I had two periods in one month (i think from coming off the pill) I had one July 23 and Aug 6 (two weeks apart). I feel pregnant (but prob cuz i want to be) but have no idea when to take a test? Around August 21 or around Sept. 4? (two week difference). I also had Pelvic Inflammatory disease after I had my son (7 months old) 3 months ago. Is that going to cause me to have fertility issues? Is it harder to get pregnant the second time? Last time I got prego right off the pill. Please help!

If you had your period on August 6, you likely haven't even ovulated yet to be pregnant.  You'll have to wait until after your next period would be due to test.
