When should I take my ferret to the vet to see how old he is?

do I just randomly take him in, or should I take him when he goes to get his annual booster shots?

  1. Just make an appointment now and give the vet $20.


  2. It depends. If you honestly have no idea how old your ferret is, the vet won't be able to tell IF your ferret is older than 1. Under 1, and he might be able to tell by the teeth.

    So if you aren't sure and you wonder if your ferret is a younger one (under 1) then just take him now and get a quick check.

    Also - age isn't everything with ferrets. If your ferret is ever sick and needs surgery, remember this. Get a blood panel done to check all the organ functions. A 2 year old ferret could have a bad liver that would not survive anesthesia, and an 8 year old could have great functions and survive.

  3. take him to a petstore or randomly take him in i took mine to petco and they gave me an estimate try petco, pet supermarket, petsmart, ect
