I was told when I got my BB gun as a kid I was not allowed to shoot at anything living.

I was also taught all my life that if you shoot it - you eat it.

He/she said when, not where. Its not a universal age, its when you think your kid is mature enough to use it and not shoot his friends in the eyes when there not paying attention

Ok well I know I'm not a parent or nothing but I got my first AirSoft gun when I was 12-13. If there responsible enough at 12-13 with the ones that shoot plastic bullets at 14 they should get one that shoots copper bullets.

Well my children got their first bb gun when they were 6 and after that they have had several air soft guns. They are only used under adult supervision so I see no problem.  Actually my 6 year old daughter can out shoot us all the latest thing she shot was a 22.

13 or later, depending on whether or not their responsible. If they're going to shoot at people's cars or neighborhood pets, then it's not a good idea. Anyways kids go to chinatown to get machine BB guns behind their parent's backs, so it doesn't make a difference.
