I have read that you should clean your hamsters cage once a week but my mom keeps telling me when to clean it and it has only been three days since we last cleaned it. When do you people think that I should clean my cage?

  1. every 5 days.

  2. some types of bedding such as pine or sedder suggest changing everyday bec u can buy it in bulk and it is cheap   but iff u do us it stop! it causes upper respitory problems for your hamster, but if you use another brand like care freash is good to change every week  but to save your self bedding put paper towels under the bedding, it keeps it cleaner   also waht you can get people are specticle about this but it works   its a hamster potty that they learn to use, its works and saves u bedding :)

  3. It should depend on the size of the cage and the amount of wee and poos - if your hamster is neat and tidy with it's peeing and stays in one corner it shouldn't be as bad, but some pee everywhere. Just keep an eye on it, once a week should be fine. If you go close to it and sniff you'll definitely be able to tell if it needs a clean ;)

  4. once a week so it won't get weak.

  5. i thought it was 1 week but all my parents keep telling me after 3 days! pretty strange. you know what. s***w it all. lets do.... 5 days!

  6. Usaully you clean it once a week. But if you start smelling it you should clean it twice a week

  7. it depends on the size of the cage but about once a week unless it looks dirty

  8. I'd clean it every 5 days my rats cage is big so i have to clean it once a week but then again rats don't smell so i dont really know what to tell you...

  9. i usd to hav a hampster and it wuld stink very badly after a while so i wuld say once a week.

  10. Once a week is a perfect time to change your hamsters bedding, if it smells realyyyyyyyyy bad, you can just wash out a little part, that they often use to go to the bathroom. If you change it to often you can stress your hamster out. So don't change it any more often than 4 or 5 days.Hope this was helpful!=)

  11. You should atlest clean it once every week.

Or ifyou want to be extra safe with it being clean, clean it every sunday and thursday.

    Thats what I do.

  12. i asked a petsmart manager tht question and she said to clean the cage once a week, or sooner if it starts to stink

also, clean the cage with hot water. you dont need soap, cuz they have lots of chemicals, and it could harm ur hamster

    hope this helps :))

  13. every four to five days this also depends on the size, how many rodents inside because there might be more poo to clean out!

  14. well, it mainly depends on the size of the cage & the amount of waste hamsters produce (eg: poos & pees & sunflower seed shells, etc) i clean my hamster cage once per week. generally it ought to be enough.

  15. well when i was littler i had a HUGE cage with 2 dwarf hamsters in it... and now i have a smaller cage with a teddy bear hamster...when i had the dwarfs i cleaned the cage every 2 weeks, but now i clean it every week... so it just depends

  16. Once a week is fine. If your cage is getting smelly and dirty before the week is over, you'll have to clean it more often. You can clean the cage stuff often, but bedding is replaced once a week. If you cage still seems clean, you can have some more days afterward. Clean the food bowl, and everything in it. Sometimes, I do it every other week. See to your hamster's needs.

  17. It depends on the size of the cage. If once a week works that's fine but if it is getting stinky in between you may have to do it more often.
