When should i complete my wedding registry?

How far before the wedding should i complete the gift registry, and what are some good stores to register at?

I would finish up before your bridal shower which is usually up to 2-3 months before the big day.  Some good places to register are

Target

home depot ( if new home)

bed bath and beyond

Macy's

linens and things

3 Months is standard.  Most of the time some of the items go on sale so thats helpful to your guests ;0)

The top 3 are:

                            Macys (or any sister branch)

                            Bed Bath and Beyond

                            Target

If you're going to have a shower, then register right before the shower invitations go out in the mail. That way you'll be sure that the things you register for will still be available when the guests go to start buying them.

It's a good idea to register at stores with different price ranges and that are located in the areas where different guests live. We registered at Target (it's reasonably priced, located all over the country, and we had no problems at all with returns/exchanges), Bed, Bath, and Beyond (was awesome, guests can order online and have gifts delivered to your door already wrapped), and Crate and Barrel. With all those stores, we could go online and update/change items whenever we wanted. It wouldn't be a bad idea to register at Home Depot or Lowe's too. That way you guys can register for lawn equipment, tools, decorative hardware, etc. Those are things that you'll need for a first home, but people don't normally think to register for. Its always good to get it done before the shower and wedding invites go out.

The best luck I have seen is Bed, bath and beyond, Macy's, and large stores.

Issues have been with Pier 1, Kohl's and Target returns can be a nightmare!
