  1. Get them  now, go to Clarks and get his feet measured properly for the first year or two because if you buy the wrong size or if they are not fitted properly to his feet, they can damage his feet in the long run.

    Good luck

  2. That all depends on how you feel...but if you do decide to purchase some shoes for him I would buy the shoes with the soft soles.  If you get him a heavy pair of shoes when he begins to walk, it may actually be harder for him to walk.  Good luck to you.

  3. Buy them now. Now that he is walking his feet need support in proper shoes, pram shoes are too soft. Mothercare do some lovely first walkers, that's where I got my sons.

  4. i agree with chelle, mothercare do an excellent range of shoes. i don't mean variety, i mean goods supporting shoes to prectice walking, i'd recommend them

also clarkes are good but its difficult to buy the right size without them sizing the childs foot in store.

  5. You could go and buy them now.

  6. You should wait a few years, or get some really flat shoes. I know it sounds ridiculous, but wearing shoes with arches in our early years is the leading cause of flatfeet. Unlike my other answers, this one is serious. I'm seriously concerned about this. I personally had flatfeet, and I started buying puma h streets and other flat shoes and learned to make my own arch. I wore supports for years and they did nothing. Right now I have Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chis. If you get them I recommend taking out the cushioning. You need as little support as possible. I know this sounds ridiculous, but think about this. When humans start using something they rely on it. When you wear shoes your feet become soft and they rely on that cushioning and that arch. When people wear glasses they start to rely on them. When people lay around all day they become fat and unable to preform basic excersises without intense suffering.

  7. Hi Carla, honestly your child doesnt need shoes until they have been walking for 6-8 weeks.  They then only really need the shoes for warmth and protection.  Dont spend a huge amount on your first pair as they grow out of them quickly.

  8. Now so he can get used to them, he could play with them at first and then you show him what you do with your shoes to show its normal and then he will soon no what they are for

  9. Get some cruisers from Clarkes - they give good support and will help stabalize him.

We bought our little girl her first shoes when she was crawling - they're called crawlers. They got her used to wearing shoes.

  10. Now, once their walking.

  11. he should have had shoes already. he is over a year old!

even putting them on your kid before they start walking will help their feet stay straight instead of inward.

ive always put shoes on my babies.

  12. Now would be fine - but keep them for walking outdoors. It's much better for his foot muscles if he walks barefoot indoors. His feet do NOT need support - shoes are just to protect him from stepping on sharp things.

  13. My kids only have slippers to keep their feet warm until they start walking. When they start walking, they NEED proper fitting shoes. You should get him some asap. before they walk it's not really necessary because they just pull them off all the time.

  14. you should buy some now so he gets use to walking with them on.
