  1. I'd start now.  Just in case you go preterm.  I'd also make sure you have a calling list with you for your spouse so he can call people who want to know immediately when you've given birth.  But here is a good list of things to pack (you may want to split this into the essentials you'll need for birth and the bag that can be brought to you afterwards for your stay)  It's all ideas, most people don't want to bring this much.  I'd recommend the essentials, but have the rest sitting at home os you can send your spouse back to grab something you forgot!

    oCamera (extra batteries)

    oTooth brush and toothpaste

    oWash cloth

    oBook

oClothes that you wore in your 6th month (as this will be your approxamite size after birth

    oNight gown

    oHairbrush/pony tails

    oSlippers

oMisting water bottle (to keep you cool during labour)

oMp3 player with a good song list.

o24 stick-on maternity sanitary towels (super absorbent)

    o5 - 6 disposable maternity briefs

    oNipple cream

    oNursing bra

oPillow...hospital pillows can be so uncomfortable

oBaby book if you want the nurse to put your baby's footprints in it

    oSocks

    oSnacks

oJournal and pens (if you feel like documenting your feelings and such)

oMake up (to look good in those first pictures)

    Pack baby bag for hospital

    oSleep suits

    oNappies

    oVests

    oCardigans (seasonal)

    oBlanket/Shawl (seasonal)

o'Best' outfit for photo sessions in the hospital

    oCotton wool

    oNappy cream

    oScratch mitts

  2. Don't overpack!  I took everything and more that I thought I thought I would need and managed to give birth in the morning and leave in the evening!  You will need pads for the amazing amount of blood that comes out after (sometimes for weeks...it's like having a really, really bad period) so if the hospital doesn't provide those, get some super absorbent pads.  Don't get the Always ones with the green strip because at that time, those strips can cause infections.  Take some bottled water and if you want some comforts of home, a special pillow or blanket.  Good luck and all the best as you come to the final part of your pregnancy.

  3. Make sure you have the carseat ready and properly installed.
