When should i stop taking guitar lessons?

i'lve been taking guitar lessons for a couple of years im ok at it. but my parents want me to keep going. so my question is how long is too long for taking guitar lessons? it doesnt have to be based skills-wise. i just wanna know people's opinion on what's the average # of year you should take lessons.

  1. keep taking them, u can never be to good for lessons.


  2. you should never stop taking lessons unless you get better than your teacher then you should either pursue someone more advanced or teach yourself

  3. if you dont feel excited to take lessons then stop them.

    we never stop taking Guitar lessons. we learn and practice everyday. when you think that you dont need a teacher and you can manage by yourself you can stop the lessons.

It's different for everyone.  I took 4 or 5 years of lessons in my teens.  Stopped for a couple of years.  Went to Berklee College of Music for 2 years (had lessons and more there), stopped for about 10 years and currently take lessons once in a while with a good teacher I found nearby.  He helps me get out of ruts and inspires me to continue learning and improving my playing.  Keep in mind that many good players never take 1 lesson.

  5. Take them when you feel like you don't need them anymore, but remember, there is always something to learn.
