  1. well i kow im not a mom , but i have a baby cousin aand shes one year , and when her mom switched her to milk she started puking and stuff , my suggestion is do it half and half like half formula have real milk that way you dont hurt her tummy to much , hope i helped:):)

  2. I would see the doctor before making a change (or at least talk with one).

  3. Transition her into it.  If you abruptly switch, it may upset her tummy.  Pediatricans recommend they can have regular milk (whole is what I was told) at 1 year.

  4. We had to transition my son to regular milk over time, as he did not care for the taste.

  5. If you want to give whole cows milk, transition slowly.  You could mix it with her formula, or offer a small cup of whole milk once a day.  Whichever one you chose, go slowly to get her system used to it.

Of course she doesn't HAVE to drink whole cows milk at all.  You can wean her off formula to a mixed diet that does or does not contain WCM.  It's a healthy food, but if she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to drink it.

  6. My son was on formula, so I started with one bottle being formula, and then the next being whole milk. It only took about a week to get him fully switched over.

  7. The day my son turned 1 I just stopped the formula and the bottle and only gave him whole milk in a sippy cup.  It is completely up to you how you do it.  I think that any way you do it just make sure that your little one is not getting too frustrated.

  8. You can transition slowly, but there's no real reason to.  We gave our son his first sippy cup of cow's milk (not mixed with formula or breastmilk) and he was fine with it.  Of course, now he won't drink pumped breast milk from a cup, but that's another story.

  9. Transition slowly..

I was given the advice to even mix formula/expressed breast milk with regular milk if she doesn't take to the regular milk right away.

    Good luck!

  10. Is she using a sippy cup? If so, try putting some milk into the cup at breakfast or lunch, and see what happens. I wouldn't recommend it at dinner b/c if she's gonna have a tummy ache, you'll be up all night!

Since she's already doing formula, this won't be such a big deal. Most people say milk at one year b/c it's cheaper than formula!

  11. Transition slowly, but 1 year is when most pediatricians recommend the switch.

  12. Transition slowly.

  13. 1 year is the recommended time.  I had my daughter drink regular milk with meals and her formula in the evening until she was done with the nighttime bottle.
