When should we have our second baby?

Question

Just for amusement, if my husband and I started our family when I was 22 and he was 25, at what age IN YOUR OPINION, should we have our second? I realize this is a bit silly, I just wanted to take a poll. Rest assured no action will be taken based on this little poll. Thanks!

First of all, HOORAY FOR HAVING MORE THAN ONE KID!!!  I think having an only child is cruel.  Having said that, my opinion is that the second baby should come along AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after the first!  The kids will have a wonderful childhood TOGETHER with so much in common and fun days of playing together at the same level.  My own 2 children--a girl and a boy--are 22 months apart, and while that's pretty close, I still wish it'd been more like 12.

I have 3 boys all very close in age...my boys are 1 month 2 years and 3 years. My first two are a year and 6 days apart. Knowing what I know now I wish I waited 3 years in between babies. My 3 year old loves our 1 month old and is very helpful, but my 2 year old hates that the spot light is no longer on him

I would have at least three years between children. So, each child during their time of need gets your full attention. With the potty training, learning how to talk, and just getting their bearings. Then, when the child is five or six and goes to kindergarten the other child will be able to have your attention.

Probably having your children at least two years apart, had five kids like that and it worked out great.

About 18 months after the first. I have 3 siblings, my mum had us within two years of the previous one and we all get along really well and are really close. Children don't really understand jealousy before they are 2 so introducing a new member of the family is easy. I have seen some friends go through problems with having several years difference between children, the older one is usually very jealous and there can be problems with temper tantrums to get attention.
