My daughter's dob is 8th dec2005. I am confused when to send her in prenursery in a 3 years preschool system. though she is not talking clearly till now, but she is sharp. If we send her to prenursery next year then she will be 6+ when she will be going to class one. Will she get any maturity advantage then? Want advise on what december born childrens do normally regarding admission in school. Thank You.

  1. i agree to the answer above, spot on

  2. If this was in Ohio, she would qualify this coming fall for the 3's and young 4's class -she would turn four during that year but they have to BE 3 by August 1 to enroll in September.  Our program is geared for two years - so she would turn 5 during the 4's and young 5's class and then turn 6 in kindergarten -that's actually quite perfect for her!

  3. There are many good answers already posted to this question.

Many of us adults wish we could have placed our children, who are born leaking from each o*****e, into a special chamber that you turn on, and out pops a kid with all the information and education they will ever need, and without the expenses and add-ons associated with schooling.

A child born in a remote village, such as Chefornack, Alaska will develope quite distinctly and differently from that of a child born in Chicago, Illinois and other cities in comparison.

It is the nuturing and needs of the child versus what we as adults do in the early stages of life.  Kids are like a (I hate to use this but) growing Sponde Bob Square Pants.  They suck up information just like a sponge, and unfortunately, they soak up the good along with the bad.  Be very careful of those nasty words with 4 letters around children, not a good thing for a baby to "mutter" when being kissed on the forehead at the Vatican by the Pope!

There are many that agree that putting headphones on an infants ears at night with teaching CD's such as dictionaries and encyclopedias actualyl work, and others that believe it is pure hogwash.

A child starts to learn immediately upon birth, with the most usual thoughts of all new kids on this planet "what the heck is going on and why did they take me from my warm soft place".

Using a computer and the new kids computer systems may also help advance a child in the education arena.  However, those smart kids that graduate at a very early age usually have a high suicide, alcohol or drug abuse rate.

In Japan, the kids actually will kill themselves for school work that has grades under a "B".

You must determine what is best for your own child's educational growth.  You must gage the responses from your child as to whether he or she is receptive to elarning new things.

Remember, the days of "memorization" are going to the wayside as "independent thinking" is growing.

You can check out the US Government's Department of Education website for more information, and there are also many, many private organizations out there also that get paid for tutoring your child.

Over-education is within itself simplification at it's worse.

Be very careful, remember, a childhood is something that once lost, cannot be re-claimed.

  4. usually around 5-6-7 around those ages. the earlier the better but no earlier than 5. it also depends on what the age limit is to pre-k or kindergarten.

  5. I would at least send her to pre-school to help her develop and learn how to interact with kids. My son started school at 3. But I would have done it earlier if I had a second chance. You don't necessarily have to send your kid in full time but just a couple of days a week at least.

  6. Children born after Sept 1 start kindergarten a year late. When they're 6 instead of 5.

  7. She should go to when she is 6 or 7 years old. If you start at 6 she would get less education. But if ou start at 7 she will learn anything then everybody else. She'll be a smart girl.
