Should you start when you find out you're pregnant? Or should you start when you start trying? My fiancee and I will be 24 when we get married Oct 31, 2008. We're thinking about trying for a baby right after we get married.

  1. you should start right when you decide you want to get preg i asked something similar to this question last week you could look at my question and read them there are some pretty good ans. as to why you should take them. congrats on you marriage

  2. I would start taking them when you start trying, it is just a good practice and most dr would suggest it.

  3. i took prenatals and a b12 supplement while trying to get pregnant.  its good to build up your iron, and folic acid. also giving up caffiene can help.

  4. Anytime.

Ideally for a few months before you conceive, but if that didn't happen, as soon as you find out you are pregnant.

    It's written on the bottle.

  5. Start when you start trying. I had been taking prenatal vitamins for a few months before I started trying. the added folic acid and other vitamins will be good.

  6. You should start taking the pre-natals when you find out you are pregnant. however you should start taking Folic Acid supplements now.

  7. As early as humanly possible.

  8. If you plan to get pregnant you could take them while trying. Otherwise take them as soon as you find out.

  9. As ealry as you can. Doctors recommend taking folic acid at least 2 years before becoming pregnant to remove the risk of having a child with spina bifida.

  10. I would start taking a good quality pregnancy multi the day you get married. Even if you get pregnant the first day of your honeymoon I'm sure it'll be sufficient. Most of us don't start taking them till a week after the stick turns blue.

  11. You need to start as soon as possible. If you are planning the baby it's best if you start them before you get pregnant.

  12. ~*~*~*~

If it's a planned pregnancy, start taking them when you are trying to concieve.

Or, as soon as you find out you are pregnant, call your Dr. and they will call in a script for you.

    Good Luck!

  13. Start when you begin trying. I had them in my system for 5 months and once we got pregnant the doc said it was great that I'd already been doing it.

  14. You should start as soon as you start trying, as it could happen at anytime.

  15. Start now!

They say that prenatal vitamins are great for women regardless of whether they are pregnant, trying to conceive or 60 years old!!

    Congratulations and good Luck!

  16. You should start before you get pregnant.  If you tell your doctor you are trying they will prescribe some for you.  Your body needs a lot of nutrients when you are pregnant and some you need before pregnancy to insure a healthy baby.  Good luck to you!

  17. It's OK to take them, but they are not cheap. You can take a regular multivitamin. The most important thing for you to be getting is folic acid, which you can buy over the counter as a supplement.

  18. I have read on some prenatal bottles that you can start before you are pregnant as all they do is make your body healthy, it wouldn't do any harm. I started taking mine once I found out I was pregnant but we weren't trying... Good luck to you!

  19. It's a good idea to start taking them as soon as you start trying to get pregnant. I wasn't trying to get pregnant but as soon as I found out I was I started taking them immediately. Some women who aren't even trying to get pregnant take them just because they're good for you.

  20. ideally you should start BEFORE you're pregnant.  That way your body has a buildup of all the vitamins, especially iron which is very important, right from the start!  My doc prescribed them to me when I started trying to get prego.  Good luck!

  21. If you are planning to get pregnant then start taking them now. I started when I got pregnant and because my body wasn't used to them and morning sickness, I didn't keep one down for the whole first trimester.

  22. Start when your first trying to get pregnant.  If your not trying to get pregnant, start taking them as soon as you find out your pregnant!

  23. Ive always read that at least 3 months before u start trying u should start taking vitamins and getting your body healthy and at your idealweightt.
