  1. Typically I find that when using basic strategy I tend to mostly go up and down from a range of -10 units to +7 units.  That said, there are times when I exceed these ranges and that's when I know I'm at a hot or cold table.  If I'm running well, I'll use a stop loss to preserve my gains (ex. if I drop 3 units from my high) No matter what though, only bring to the table money you can afford to play with and leave all atm and credit cards far away from you so you aren't tempted to withdraw money you can't afford to lose.  Moreover, NEVER EVER EVER play when you are tired.  This leads you to make bad decisions.

  2. Yes....if you never lay down that first bet, you'll never, ever lose.

  3. when i play blackjack, i play off of $100 initially.  If I lose 4 hands in a row, i sit out and wait for a re-shuffle.  At the end of each shoe if I am up I only play off of the initial $100.  let's say that it takes 5 minutes to deal a shoe (i don't know how long it really takes) and you double youre money, unless you make $100 every 5 minutes working, i'd say you should quit or at least take a break.

  4. Always set a limit when playing any gambling game. Decide before playing what amount your willing to lose and what amount you would be happy to walk away with. Make sure to stick by these limits and your gambling experience should be more enjoyable

  5. Set a limit and don't go over it....that will prevent major losses.  If the dealer seems to be getting hot...like hitting 21 when she has rotten cards and stuff like that, leave....find a different table.  If you say you're going to leave after you triple up, then do it when it happens.  The worst losses I've seen are when people are up big, lose it, and then try to win their money back.  They get desperate and take big risks.

  6. If you count cards you should know which shoes to play through and at which point to stop and wait for reshuffle.

Outside of that, Blackjack is a game with a built in mechanism designed to keep players playing. Here's why...when you are winning, you feel hot, you feel lucky, and hence you dont want to stop because your brain is experiencing a high much like a drug.  So you keep playing because you dont want to shorten your hot streak and play it out. So you keep playing until the longterm odds kick in and you start to lose it all back.

On the flipside, when you are losing or behind, you dont want to stop becuase you dont want to leave a loser. So you keep playing with the mindset "i just want to make back my money or get back to even then i quit." So you keep losing and playing until its all gone.

If you howver do start winning your losses and get back to even....guess what, you are hot again and want to keep playing becuase now the hot streak you been waiting for has arrived. Dont leave now, this is what you been waiting for...so you keep playing.

See how it works, no matter what the scenario your brain is wired to keep playing.

I suggest only going to the casino with the cash you are willing to lose and no more. Leave the debit card in the hotel room or out of rreach.   One other strategy is that when you are winning, about you double your money, for every bet you win from then on place a half bet in your pocket. Along the way you will keep putting half bets into your pocket as you win bets here and there. When you finally lose what you have on the table, at least you'll still walk away with whatever is in your pocket.

If you want, try out partycasino dot com or partypoker dot com and use signup bonus code ACURA, which will give you up to $200 on top of initial deposit. Great software, both poker and blackjack, secure well established company and good prmotions.

  7. set your limits before you sit down and don't alter them.  For example, sit down with $100 dollars and say you will leave if you have up to $200 or down to $50.

  8. I generally go to the casino with 50 0r a hundred.   When I double up I get out, if I lose I go home.  Never double dip.  If you are on a roll, put green in your pocket, never go back into the pocket.  never go into your wallet to double down.  If they change dealer on you when you are on a roll, leave.
