  1. Rules??? Are you asking about rules???  There are no rules in SKIING.  Go downhill, avoid trees, avoid people, and smile.

Just go with the side that has more room...you have to also predict where the person is going to turn so they don't slam into you.  Once, this patroller that could barely ski turned into me and then blamed it on me, and technically he was right because i didn't leave enough space to avoid his sudden wedge turn in my direction.  Luckily, i was at a psia instructor exam and my examiner had helped himself to extra lift tickets...

  3. The rule is you may never bring someone in danger, you may pass on the left or on the right, the one above is responsible towards the lower skiing or snowboarding people. Nevertheless everyone should know the 10 important rules how once should behave on the slope.

  5. There is no left/right rule. If you're uphill of a skier, give way! Give people plenty of space. Don't speed in slow zones. Avoid the fat lady in the pink lycra jumpsuit. That's about it.
