when some one rings my home phone the livebox doesnt work after a while it starts working again

  1. Several possible causes, ranging from faulty ADSL filters in your home to a fault in the exchange. There may also be an "anti tinkle" condenser in one of the phone outlets. These are as useful as an appendix (they date from the days of rotary dial phones). If you have one, remove it.

    Try the following test. Unplug every phone or other device (fax, answering machine) connected to the phone line except the livebox. Then call your own number with a mobile phone and let it ring a couple of times.  Of course you won't hear it ring, but check to see whether the Livebox has desynchronised (stopped working, it take about 20-40 seconds to resynchronise, start working again). If that is the case, the fault is probably in the adsl filters at the exchange - but you might have a hard time convincing BT to do anything about it.
