When someone hires a Private investigator to find info on a person where do they begin? Is there certain?

  1. Wherever they can. There are many posible places. Are they alive or dead?. That bit of info influences the choices to be made.


  2. I was never a PI but When I repossessed cars I had to track people down.  My most productive research tool was a business program offered by trans union. I could search anything int the three credit reporting companies data bases for only a few dollars a trace.  Names old addresses SSN#. anything.  This was ten years ago but I think the set up cost me around $800 for the program and around 50 a month plus service fees.  I did have to keep immaculate paper work  signed releases where necessary etc.

  3. The cost is usually based on the number of hours the investigator spends searching for information. For an estimate, you'd have to call an investigator and tell them exactly what it is you want to find out.
