  1. depends on what theyre dying from...

diseases cause your heart to slow and your organ(s) to shut down.

i dont think anyone in that condition would feel like dancing or walking around.

  2. because their systems are down.. hehehe

  3. Most of this has to do with your age. People associate dying with sleeping because elderly patients are the ones who die the most frequently. You would be shocked to see children and young people who are going through the dying process. Fatigue does play a part in the end of life stage, but not as much as you think. Strong and young individuals . . their bodies fight to keep them alive . . sometimes they barely sleep at all. We chased our teenage son all over the house, dragging two huge oxgen tanks with him, an IV pole and his pain pump. He was up day and night time until the last day when he finally laid down.

Basically I think dying is a very individual process . .much depends on your age as death approaches . . older people are more fatigued than the young and thus tend to sleep more. Those who are younger and are sleepy may be on heavy duty medications (although there are now meds to keep them awake or more energized as well -ritilan is one).

In the young, dying is a bit harder because the body will do anything to conserve energy and divert oxygen to keep them alive. They can be quite alert and barely sleepy at all.

  4. They may be in a coma. How do you know they are dying? Humans sometimes come out of a coma.

  5. Because your muscles and organs know you're dying so they begin to shut down making you loose energy. You begin to loose too much energy to stay awake.

  6. cause they got no energy to live anymore

  7. Because they are dying, they are tired and have no energy.  Opening their eyes, swallowing, breathing etc. are very difficult.

Imagine you have run your hardest for several miles and can't go any farther.  You just want to collapse on the ground because you are exhausted.  That's similar to how they feel.

If you're friend or family member is dying, I hope you can sit with them quietly.  They would probably welcome you holding their hand gently.  Be sure to tell them how much you love them.  Use a soft voice when speaking to them.  It's more soothing to them.  And just be quiet with them.  It will mean a lot to them.

  8. bc the body is shutting down, my mom went thru this also and passed on last year

    everything is quiting

  9. I am going to bring in another issue here. When our bodies are ill, most of the healing takes place while we are sleeping. So in that sense, though the body may be dying, the process of healing, or attempting to heal is still going on.

But I believe something else is happening as well. In the sleep state, the consciousness is no longer tied to the body. There is the "seeming" unconsciousness of deep sleep, and the altered consciousness of dreaming.

We all believe we are our bodies, but in fact, who we really are, is our awareness. We can be aware of being awake, we can be aware that we are dreaming, and sometimes we can even be aware when we are in a deep sleep (it's like the feeling of refreshment we experience just upon waking). Remember, it is only the body that is dying, not the awareness, which is always there, always present, always perfect.

The increased sleep cycle that occurs when the body is beginning to fall away is something like a chance for the awareness to shift away from the body to the other realms of existence. Practice, as it were, for the time when that awareness will be free from identification with a vehicle (the body) which, at its best, is only temporary.

    Blessings on you and yours.

  10. because their body and minds our deteriorating and they know they are going to die, so they begin to give up, and their bodies begin to shut down, they also may be trying to sleep more so that they may die in their sleep peacefully.
