  1. It should be on your left facing the faucet. If not, and this is the only fixture with hot on right simply cross the supply lines under the sink.

  5. Hot is always on the left.  Has something to do with living in a right handers society.  It is safer to turn the cold water on first so not to burn yourself.  Since most would turn on the water with their right hand before their left the cold should be on the right.
