I'm taking a bus to Mexico and I'm a US Citizen. Does anyone know if I can get the tourist permit card at the border? I have no idea if the bus will stop at a Mexican immigration office for me to get the tourist permit.

  1. you don'tt need one.

but you might want to get a gide so the peopledon'tt scam you. cus you wont be to happy when they do.

    well enjoy mexico.

  2. I don't know...I recently took a bus back to mexico from the U.S., and it did not stop at the Aduana office...tho I was the only American on the bus...and I have an FM3 visa.  Since most of the people on the bus will likely be Mexican citizens, they probably do not think of that issue.  You can get one ahead of time at the nearest American consult ...see list below.  Hope others answer so you can get their experiences too.  I kinda doubt that the bus will...they prob. figure any Americans on the bus already have their visa or tourist card.

  3. Here's the thing, most people traveling by bus do not need to stop at the immigration office so most buses do not stop.  When you get on the bus be sure to tell the driver that you need to do this and it will be no problem.
