  1. No, you don't - you'll have to show your passport at the train station, but since it's part of the EU (European Union), you won't need to go through customs in France.

  2. All US-citizens are authorized to travel within EU-countries for 90 days, without a visa, just showing their passports.

The same procedure applies for EU-citizens travelling to the USA.

You just have to show your U.S.-passport and you'll be fine going from London to France.

However from Paris to London, other rules apply, since the "Island" has always been different from continental Europe:

Message for all non-European Economic Area citizens travelling from Paris Gare du Nord terminal on Eurostar:(Source: http://www.eurostar.com )

Citizens of non-European Economic Area countries must complete a landing card before arriving at Eurostar check-in.  Landing cards are available from dedicated desks in front of the check-in area and from Eurostar staff.  This card must then be handed to UK Immigration staff.

  3. no, they are both in the EU and when i took a train from Sweden to Denmark I didn't have to clear customs because they are both in the EU and I am a US citizen
