  1. No, it's not important unless your doctor checked the box to dispense as written.

  2. Generic medication goes through specific testing to ensure it performs as well as the prototype. It is just as safe and efficacious as the original.

So no, it isn't important as they are both the "real thing"... :)

    Cheers!

  3. Not at all. Generics work the same as "brand name" meds. They have the same amount of the same active ingredients.

  4. if your doctor tells you to take medication, but doesn't give you a prescription, ask him what kind of medication to get(especially sense theres a lot of scams mascurading in the market as treatments)

  5. Generic will work just fine for high blood pressure. It's only worth switching to brand name medications if you

    1. are having trouble swallowing the pill

    2. are acheiving different effects (medications sometimes have slight variations in ingredients and one may work better than the other depending on the person)

You can always switch to brand name, so start out with the generic and see if you like it first--especially the slated prices. :-)

  6. depends on what type. like if it's just diuretics, generic is fine.

  7. Some generics do not work as well as the Brand name.  For really important medications, the doctor often wants to be sure that the medication will work as it should, and insists on brand name. They MAY have the same ingredients, but absorption is different. There have been quality control issues with overseas plants making generics.  You get what you pay for.
