When talking on a land phone, is the volume affected by distance?

Example- I call from New York to Texas... I can barely hear the person on the other line, does that have to do with the distance? Or is just something wrong with the telephone lines?

  1. I don't think it has anything to do with the distance. There must be something wrong with the connection.


  2. no!! no way!! I call around the world everyday.........and it sound like they are in the same room with me!!

  3. Distance does count, but normally boasters cure this. Get the operator to check your line.
