When the Queen dies will UK Passports have to be re-issued?

Inside UK Passports it says that "Her Britannic Majesty requests and requires... all those all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely and without let or hindrance."

Will this have to be changed to "His Britannic Majesty" if Charles takes the thrown?

  1. Probably - at great expense to ourselves!  And if this new ID card system comes into being, that will be a huge expense too.  Why not have reduced rates for those who cannot afford these passports.  I feel stateless.

  2. I hope so.  Then maybe they give me one.  I keep askin and offering a bit of money, but no luck.

It is a conspiracy.  All the fault of MI6 and the Duke of Edinburgh.

  3. No,the passpots will be changed after they expire and have to be re-issued

  4. No.

The Crown, as too Bodies Corporate and offices of State continue on indefinitely after the people that formed them have passed on.

The wording in the Passport will be changed to reflect the gender of the sovereign, but Passports already issued remain valid.

  5. Of course not!  But given time the old passports and money will be phased out and replaced with new designs.

In the case of money, new notes and coins are being printed all the time to replace damaged notes and coins re-entering the banking system

  6. And will we have to give all the coins back to be changed?
