When the U.S. invaded Iraq...?

Did ALL Iraqi citizens know that they are not just invading their country?

I mean, Usually if country A invades country B, country B's citizens would fight Country A..in this case, making them "insurgents" or "terrorists"...

How did the U.S. inform the Iraqi citizens, especially the ones living in villages, farms, etc.

If they were not properly informed, I could see people taking advantage and misinforming these people to gain terrorist support...

Do you understand what I mean?

When the founding fathers fought back the British, they were called liberators, when misinformed Iraqi citizens fight back, they are called terrorists...

why is this? How did this happen?

They knew exactly what we were doing and why.  Too bad we can't get that conveyed to ignorant people in this country who refuse to understand what we are doing over there.

yes, we did warn them with "voice of america" VOA radio and leaflets.  they were all so miserable they understood and wanted it.  they just were not prepared for the looting and unrest with took place afterwards.  it took way too long for things to settle down.  even those who were for it got upset at times.   the best evidence is the cheering in the streets right afterwords.

The average Iraqi is smarter than the average American when it comes to these things, they can recognize a good thing when they see it.

The writing was on the wall.  Your average Iraqi citizen was tired of Saddam Hussein and was glad to see us.  While we were rolling through Iraq when the invasion started people would run to us waiving and cheering.  The vast majority of the insurgents who are fighting us aren't even Iraqi, they are terrorists who sunk in through Iran or Syria.  Your average Iraqi is glad we came unless they had family or friends who were killed by coalition forces by accident.

The difference between us and the British back in the 1700s was that they were oppressing us and treating us like c**p.  The US is trying to get Iraq back on their feet so they won't need us anymore and they can grow to be the next Saudi Arabia (unlikely but it could happen).

The general population understood and cheered us on as we arrived.  Those who were against us were not the typical citizen, they were criminals let out of jail by Saddam before we invaded and/or terrorists and radical Baathists.  It took awhile to get the people to get into a mindset to be opposed to and stand up to terrorists, but it finally happened.  It was not the common citizen fighting us in Iraq.
