  1. It is not a case of when - it is still very much a case of 'IF' - there are no plans at all for the UK to adopt the Euro.

IF and it's a big IF we ever do then the coins will have the standard Euro sign - just like every one else who uses Euros.

    ...

  2. euro stars and the queen.

  3. none it's never gonna happen

  4. Loads of the schools I've worked in have Euro coins in their maths cupboards, just waiting for the day it's announced we'll be teaching that instead of sterling.

They may be plastic versions, but they all have the euro symbol on them, and the picture of europe

  5. The UK will never adopt the Euro in the near future (and hopefully never)

The reason why is that the British Pound is worth so much more than the Euro, so by changing from the pound to the euro would damage their economy quite a bit.

a pound is worth about $2 while the euro is only worth around $1.60. so unless the pound drops a lot and the euro rises a lot compared to the US dollar, the change will never be made.

    and to answer your question:

the symbols are not yet known seeing as how the UK doesn't plan on changing anytime soon. although my guess would be the Euro symbol on the front over a picture of the European continent. and on the back either parliament, the current royal head of the country, or Big Ben's clock tower.

(for all of you who said Big Ben: big ben is the bell inside the tower not the tower! i doubt many people would recognize just the bell!)

  6. There are Europe wide symbols on one side of the coin & the symbol of the country on the other, for Ireland it's the harp, for France it's Marianne, if the UK adopts the Euro, they'll probably put the Queen's head on coins minted in the UK.

  7. Why do you keep stirring it?

Does it amuse you. or are you an agent of Brussels/Strasbourg?

  8. h**l will freeze over before we adopt the Euro.

  9. let's just hope that we never have to find out, and we never adopt the Euro :-)

  10. The Euro symbol.  Just like everyone else.  Maybe Big Ben, maybe Parliament too.

  11. The UK isn't going to adopt the Euro for at least 20 years, and I'm willing to put my money on that.
