One thing that has always driven me mad about Aussie Rules is this!!

It still goes through!

Can you name any other games that don't allow the score if it hits the post first??????

  1. Have to agree with you on that on Cap'n its a silly rule and should be changed. A goal is a goal is a goal. Strewth!

  2. OMG!!!!

I thought this was a dirty question!!! hehehe

Anyway...I can't think of any other game with that rule.

                    And your right,it is frustrating!!!!

  3. Quite simple, why should you be reward if you can't get it between the 2 post without hitting them.

So with your logic if you hit the point post it should be also counted as a score instead of out of bound?

A goal should be the reward for getting them between the posts without hitting them.

  4. That "Red Bull Air Race"  where you fly those little planes really quickly around posts and under bridges.

Not only do you not get points if you hit the post, you will probably die as well!!!!

  5. My, my, we sure do get rather emotional about this bloody footie, don't we??  I think you might need to relax and unwind and perhaps suck on a lollipop or something.  You need to have a calming moment.

Perhaps a refreshing warm shower to relax those tense facial muscles.

Not good for the old blood pressure you know!!!

    Peace,

    Buzzy

  6. Captain Jack, If your team was a point in front, with only seconds to go, and the other team hit the post before the ball went through the goal sticks, would it still drive you mad.

There is plenty of air between the sticks, to gain a  legitimate goal, without relying on the luck of a ricochet.

  7. Because it's AFL it's meant to be unique to Australia. Not soccer or NFL or even Rugby. It hits the post it's a point, evry team has to deal with it.

  8. Its good in theory i guess, but I still think its better that they leave it as it is and not complicate and change rules.

I like that they have to have a clear shot without hitting the post and we dont wanna turn footy into a game of soccer!!

    Good question though ;)
